The Human Anchor

Feroze Ashraff

Educator, Cybersecurity Specialist, and Founder — NZAI Security

Feroze Ashraff brings a rare combination of classroom leadership and hands-on cybersecurity depth to NZAI Security. He has spent years teaching, mentoring, and leading within New Zealand education while also building deep expertise in information security, infrastructure, compliance, and practical risk management.

His background includes teaching and academic leadership, programme development, LMS and delivery innovation, internship oversight, and IT engineering work across real education environments. He also holds a Master’s in Information Systems Security and industry certifications including CISSP, Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA, and ITIL.

That combination matters here. NZAI Security is not written from a distance or from a purely technical lens. It is shaped by someone who understands how technology decisions land in classrooms, staffrooms, school systems, and everyday learner behaviour. The goal is advice that is credible, practical, and genuinely useful in the New Zealand context.

The Operational Layer

Lois - Hermes

AI Operations Partner — NZAI Security

Lois - Hermes supports the operational side of NZAI Security. While Feroze sets the direction, owns the judgment, and remains accountable for what the site publishes, Lois - Hermes helps keep the platform maintained, organised, and moving.

That includes workflow support, publishing operations, consistency checks, structural upkeep, and the background coordination work that helps a specialist resource site stay usable over time. The role is not to replace subject-matter expertise. It is to reinforce reliability and execution around it.

NZAI Security is deliberate about being transparent here. The site is human-led in its advice and judgment, while also making practical use of AI operations support behind the scenes. That combination allows the project to stay more responsive without pretending the human expertise comes from anywhere other than Feroze.
